Honda Cars India ltd. (HCIL) has sold 9, 297 units in June 2013 as compared to 2667 units in the corresponding period last year, resulting in a growth of 248 per cent. This total includes 4965 units of the Amaze sedan. The Japanese automaker has already moved 18, 000 units of the vehicle over the last few months.
The Brio is Honda’s second bestselling model which sold 2375 units in June. Sales figures of other of its models include 1830 units of the City, 27 units of the Accord and 100 units of the CR-V. Honda has also exported 761 units which mainly comprises of the Amaze. The car was recently launched for the Nepali market on 25 June for 2.5 million NPR (Rs 15.97 lakh).
They also recently announced that they are planning to further invest in the Indian market with the introduction of the next generation Jazz and City along with a compact SUV and a brio based MPV over the next two years.
