The Honda Amaze has been in the Indian market for a year now and up till now the compact sedan has done really well for the Japanese market by selling in big numbers. A big chunk of the car’s success can be put down to the fact that it was Honda India’s first offering to come with a highly efficient diesel engine.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the Amaze in the Indian market, Honda India has introduced the ‘Anniversary edition’ which comes loaded with a sporty looking body kit and a boot spoiler. Additionally, the car also gets door visors and an exhaust pipe finisher. Inside, Honda has added improved upholstery and wooden inserts for the dashboard panels.
Mechanically, the Anniversary edition remains the same. The same 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine and 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine are to be found in the Amaze lineup. The ‘Anniversary edition’ of the Amaze costs an additional Rs 71,861 over the price of the standard ‘VX’ and ‘S’ variants.
Announcing the ‘Anniversary edition’, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Honda Amaze has been a game changer in its segment and has enabled HCIL to reach out to so many new customers, bringing them into the Honda fold. We are delighted to introduce the new ‘Anniversary edition’ amongst customers to celebrate its success. It is Honda’s constant endeavor to provide freshness to our products and create excitement in the market. We are confident that the differentiated and youthful look of the car will have greater appeal to our customers.”
