The 2018 Honda HR-V facelift has been spotted on test in Malaysia. The HR-V, a popular selling compact SUV for the company in the international market, is likely to get the new model early next year. Reports indicate that the Japanese car manufacturer is also likely to introduce the new HR-V in India sometime in 2019.
Honda is expected to continue offering the existing engine options, while changes will be limited to cosmetic upgrades. In the international market, the Honda HR-V is currently available in three engine options - a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol unit, a 1.5-litre i-VTEC+i-DCD hybrid power-train and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel unit. The compact SUV will continue being offered in both manual and automatic transmission options.
Based on what can be seen, the upcoming 2018 Honda HR-V will get a new headlamp assembly, sportier bumper and a new fog lamp cluster. The sides look identical to the current generation model, however it gets tweaked alloy wheels for freshness. As for the interior, the new model is expected to get revised upholstery and new material for creaturely comforts. Additionally, the vehicle also gets a new infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
