The facelifted Honda CR-V has been launched in the Malaysian market for 1339,800 RM (Rs 23.82 lakh). This is the first update for the fourth generation CR-V and is mostly cosmetic in nature. It was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and has already been launched in Thailand and Indonesia.
We have already spoken in detail about the CR-V when it was unveiled in Paris and most of what was shown there has been carried over to the Asia spec car both internally and externally.
The Malaysian market gets the CR-V in three variants 2.0-litre 2WD, 2.0-litre 4WD and 2.4-litre 4WD of which the first is a new unit. The former two are powered by four-cylinder motors that produce 154bhp and 190Nm of torque. The 2WD variant sends power to the front wheels via a five-speed AT while the 4WD variant also gets a real AWD time unit that sends power to the rear wheels when required. It’s the same story in the 2.4-litre unit which produces 188bhp and 222Nm of torque and uses a CVT box and the real time AWD system.
Honda is also offering Modulo accessories in the form of four packages - Aero, Elegant, Utility and Urban. We in India will get this version of the CR-V once the Jazz has been launched for the India market and that is likely to be by the end of this year.
