Post its global debut at this year’s New York Motor Show as a concept car; the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe has been caught on test in Ohio. This tenth generation Civic coupe marks a significant departure for the compact model of the Honda line-up.
Going by the spy photographs, the 2016 Civic Coupe is wider and sports a lower, aggressive look. According to our sources, Honda will offer LED headlamps for the US-spec model.
Under the hood, a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre, four-cylinder engine will be offered in the base version although higher-spec versions will get a new, 1.5-litre turbocharged engine – a new unit with direct injection for the US markets.
The new Civic will get lane departure warning and forward collision alert, features that have started appearing on new Honda models. While the Civic sedan is expected to go on sale in the US starting September, the sportier coupe version will be launched early next year.
