The fourth generation Honda City has secured 10,000 bookings since its launch in Malaysia on March 20. This, according to a source in Malaysia, exceeds the previous record of 3,000 bookings set by the fourth generation Honda CR-V.
Honda has announced that it will be able to finish deliveries of all the 10,000 bookings by June this year. This shorter turn-around-time is accredited to the second assembly line at their facility in Pegoh, which has helped increase the production capacity by twice the number and at the same time speed up the output.
Honda sales in Malaysia are up by 30 per cent in the first quarter of 2014 as compared to the same period in 2013. The Japanese car maker aims to sell about 76,000 vehicles this year.
The new Honda City first unveiled in India took our domestic market by storm and is currently leading the C-segment in terms of overall sales. This year Honda has some exciting cars lined up for launch such as the Mobilio MPV and the Jazz hatchback.
