Honda will soon launch the petrol City sedan with the six-speed manual transmission. The six-speed unit is already offered with the recently launched BR-V and the same will now be available with the C-Segment sedan.
The Honda City petrol is powered by the 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC engine producing 117bhp and 145Nm of torque. At the moment, the sedan uses the five-speed manual transmission, but Honda dealers have confirmed that it should soon get the six-speed unit from the BR-V.
There won’t be any changes to the power figures with the new transmission, but ideally the ARAI fuel efficiency of the petrol manual City should go up marginally. We are expecting Honda to officially launch the six-speed City MT by the end of this month with a slight price hike. The updated City will continue to compete with the Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
