Honda has recalled the previous generation City, Jazz and the Civic in India to replace the driver-side air bag inflators. The recall is part of Honda’s global initiative and is a preventive step over airbag inflators.
This is the second time that Honda has issued a recall pertaining to airbags in India. Total of 49, 572 units of the City, 7,504 units of the Jazz and 600 units of the Civic have been recalled and the necessary part will be replaced at the Honda service centres, free of cost. All the affected cars have been manufactured between January 2012 and June 2013.
The replacement will be carried out in a phased manner across India, starting February 20. The customers are requested to key in their 17 digit alpha numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite created on www.hondacarindia.com website.
