Honda Car India has issued an official recall for all Honda City automatic cars manufactured between February and November, 2014 for a software update pertaining to the CVT gearbox. The recall is said to be a part of a recall campaign across several regions, globally.
Honda India will try to communicate with the customers directly through its service network. Owners can also check if their car is a part of the recall campaign by entering the 17-digit VIN (Vehicle Identification number) on the company website.
The software that regulates hydraulic pressure applied to the CVT will be updated to further optimise the performance of the transmission. The software upgrade will be free of cost for all customers. Honda has also issued a recall for over 2 lakh vehicles to owing airbag concerns that had begun earlier this month.
