Honda India registered a staggering 52 per cent jump in sales last month. The company sold 20,166 units in October as against 13,242 units sold in the same month last year.
In a highly competitive segment, the Jazz continues to do well and Honda managed to sell close to 4,500 units of the premium hatchback last month. The City and Amaze continue to be the strong brands for the Japanese manufacturer with 7,022 and 6,971 moving off the shelf. The Brio and Mobilio contributed 820 and 770 respectively while the company also exported 134 units.
Honda Cars India also registered a 16 per cent growth in the first six months of the financial year with total sales of 1,17,383 units. While the sales trends for the City and Amaze are expected to continue on the same path, the Jazz might face some difficulties with the launch of Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Nevertheless, November is expected to be another strong month with all the festivities around Diwali.
Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Mr Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The festive demand has led to a strong growth for HCIL during October where-in we recorded our highest monthly sales of this fiscal year. We are thankful to our customers for their great response and support and hope to continue this momentum.”
