Year-end offers and impending hike in prices in January 2019 has resulted in positive sales growth for Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) in India in December 2018. The Japanese car manufacturer has reportedly sold 13,139 units in December 2018 as against 12,642 units in the same period in December 2017, thereby registering a growth of four per cent in domestic sales. HCIL has exported a total of 315 units in December 2018.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd, said, “The market continued to remain challenging in December. However, with lucrative year-end offers on many of our models and strong performance of new models Amaze and CR-V, HCIL recorded 4 per cent sales growth in December 2018. We are thankful to our customers to have continued faith in the Honda brand.”
Interestingly, Honda has also reported a cumulative growth of 3.7 per cent with 134,797 units sold in the April – December period in 2018, as against 129,964 units sold in the same corresponding period from April – December in 2017.
