-Honda Cars India reports over eight per cent growth in sales in FY17-18
-The company exports in FY17-18 stands at 5,610 units
-Honda City, WR-V and Jazz continue to be volume generators in March 2018
Japanese car manufacturer Honda has reported annual domestic sales of 1,70,026 units in FY17–18, thereby witnessing over eight per cent growth over the last financial year. Comparatively, in the FY16-17, the company had sold 1,57,313 units. In terms of exports, Honda cars has exported a total of 5,610 units in fiscal year 2017-2018.
On the contrary, Honda cars has witnessed a 28 per cent drop in domestic sales with 13,574 units sold in March 2018, as compared to the 18,950 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The company has further exported 486 units in March 2018. The City has been the best seller for the company with 4,680 units sold in March, followed by WR-V and Jazz with 4,411 units and 2,473 units respectively. The rest of the cars from Honda’s product portfolio in India have witnessed sales than 1000 units in March – the BR-V (992 units), Amaze (716 units), Brio (261 units) and the CR-V (41 units).
The Japanese car manufacturer anticipates good sales number this year with the expected launch of the second-generation Amaze in India soon. Additionally, the company will also be introducing the new CR-V and the Civic in India this financial year.
