- Eight models across multiple timelines were affected
- Fix for the fuel pump issue to start on 5 November
Honda Cars India (HCIL) has announced an expansion of a previous recall campaign. Applicable to over 90,000 cars spread across various models, the recall pertains to an issue with the fuel pump.
The issue involves defective impellers within the fuel pumps, which could, over time, result in the engine stopping or not starting. According to Honda, the campaign will also cover multiple units of old models that have undergone this part change earlier as a spare part.
Honda has added that the replacement of the said part will be carried out free of cost across India in a phased manner starting from 5 November, 2024, and the owners are being contacted individually. Moreover, customers who may have bought a fuel pump assembly from Honda Cars authorised dealerships between June 2017 and October 2023 through over-the-counter sales are also requested to check their vehicle at an authorised service centre.
The models affected as a part of the recall include the Amaze, Brio, BR-V, WR-V, City, and the Jazz manufactured between 8 August 2017 and 30 June, 2018. Under the spare parts replacement section, the models include all the aforementioned cars as well as the Accord and the Civic. The latter accounts for 2,204 units while the rest of the recall amounts to 90,468 units.
