Honda has launched the Brio automatic for Rs 5.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The compact hatchback equipped with an automatic transmission will be available in two variants S (O) AT for Rs 5.74 lakh and the V AT for Rs 5.99 lakh. This is an increase of Rs 60,000 over the manual transmission models. Honda has also launched a mid-level EX manual variant of the Brio at Rs 4.26 lakh.
There are no design changes to the Brio automatic; not even an additional AT badge to distinguish it from the manual version. The Honda Brio gets the five-speed automatic torque convertor gearbox from the City – a first in segment, but without paddle shifts. The ARAI fuel efficiency is rated at 16.5kpl.
The small hatchback is powered by the Brio MT’s 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit that produces 88bhp and 109Nm of torque. It will compete with the likes of the Hyundai i10 automatic and Maruti Suzuki’s A-Star automatic.
The new addition to the Brio lineup, the EX, will possess a 1-DIN audio system with USB and aux in ports, front speakers and body-coloured mirrors and door handles. The S variant now gets electrically adjustable mirrors and front and rear mud flaps as standard.
