- Highest domestic sales ever in one month at 19,970 units
- Amaze is first Honda to cross 10,000 units per month in India
- Zooms past Tata (17,079) and Mahindra (19,781) to claim 3rd spot
Honda’s all-new compacts sedan has lived up to its name and with its amazing performance in the market has helped Honda scale new heights in the Indian car market. With 19,970 units dispatched in July, Honda has become the third largest car seller in the country as it overtook Tata Motors (17,079 units) and edged past Mahindra (19,781 units).
The 20,000 mark would have been another first in Honda’s cap but with the impending launches, Honda will surely aim to scale that target soon. The Honda CR-V will be launched in a few weeks and the seven-seater diesel-powered SUV will certainly bring in some numbers.
After that, we have the Honda Civic in line and the kind of fan-following that the Civic has, it will certainly bring in numbers. While the City and the WR-V have been ringing in steady numbers, the all-new Honda Brio which was unveiled at Indonesia has certainly caught our attention.
If Honda brings that new Brio to India, the petrol hatchback segment will certainly have a new, suave competitor, something that can take the fight to Swift and the Grand i10, especially after the performance of the Amaze.
