Honda Cars India (HCI) has announced that they will hike the prices of the City, Jazz and the Brio in the range of 0.2 to 2.6 per cent from October 1. The Japanese auto giant has attributed the hike to rising input costs, inflationary pressures and increase in freight due to the increase in diesel prices.
Honda currently retails the Brio in the price range of Rs 4.1 lakh to Rs 5.3 Lakh, while the Jazz is retailed between Rs 5.9 lakh to Rs 6.5 Lakh. The City presently starts at Rs 7.1 Lakh and goes up to Rs 10.6 Lakh for the top-end model.
There are reports that many other manufacturers including Maruti Suzuki are expected to hike car prices in October, for similar reasons. The raise in most cases is expected to be between 1 to 2.5 per cent.
