Honda has launched the Amaze compact sedan in Nepal for 2.5 million NPR (Rs 15.97 lakh). The car will be sold through Honda’s official dealer in Nepal, Syakar Trading Company and will be available only in three petrol variants and only with the manual transmission. The car is manufactured at Honda India’s plant in Gurgaon and is exported to Nepal via the CBU route.
The Amaze is being offered in three variants; E (MT), EX (MT) and S (MT). All three variants are powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC mill producing 88PS and 109Nm of torque. This is the same engine that powers the Honda Brio and the Jazz. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
In Nepal, the Honda Amaze competes with the (Maruti) Suzuki Dzire and the Ford Classic, though it must be noted that the latter is significantly larger than both of the other cars. The Nepal spec Amaze will be available in six colours; majestic blue metallic, carnelian red pearl, urban titanium metallic, alabaster silver metallic, crystal black pearl and taffeta white.
The Honda Amaze was launched for the Indian market on April 11 and has been a major success for the Japanese automaker by garnering over 22, 000 bookings in just two months. The company aims to sell around 320 units a month and has said that it has already received a good response for the car.
