Honda is aiming to earn Rs 1,100 crore through the export of auto components from India. It earned Rs 722 crore in 2014-2015 and now wants to increase the number and plans to do so by adding more countries to where it exports the auto parts.
The components, made at their Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, are exported to various countries in South East Asia, UK, Brazil and now even the USA. India is their fourth largest market and its volumes are only expected to get bigger.
Honda has also been exporting cars from India on a regular basis and has shipped out 8,403 units in the previous fiscal. It aims to increase this number but mostly to other RHD markets and in this regard has already begun the export of the new Jazz hatchback to countries like South Africa and Bangladesh.
