Honda Cars India has managed to sell 8488 units in April as compared to 7075 units in the corresponding period last year achieving a growth of 20 per cent. The Japanese automaker has already sold 4852 units of the Amaze sedan in the month April. The compact sedan was launched amid much fanfare by the Japanese automaker on April 11 for Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and had managed to garner 2552 bookings even before the car was launched last month.
Reports also suggest that the big H has already managed to garner 22, 000 bookings and the car currently has a booking period varying between 3-5 months. Honda has also managed to sell 1628 units of the brio hatchback, 1917 units of the City sedan, 33 units of the Accord and 58 units of the CR-V.
Commenting on the development, Jnaneswar Sen, Senior vice president – marketing and sales, said, “April 2013 was a significant landmark in Honda’s journey in India. With new investments in Tapukar plant, launch of advanced i-DTEC diesel engine technology, and rollout of new family sedan Amaze, Honda has set on a new phase of growth in the country. Amaze has received tremendous response from the customers despite the slowdown in the industry. We are confident that Amaze will drive our growth in this fiscal.".
