The Honda Accord Hybrid will be launched for the Indian market tomorrow. It is the new flagship vehicle from the Japanese automaker and was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. It will be the second hybrid car to enter the market and will take on the likes of the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the soon-to-be-launched Volkswagen Passat GTE.
Firstly, we have driven the car and you can find a link to our review here. It is available with a single 2.0-litre petrol engine which works in tandem with a dual electric motor setup that together produces 215bhp/315Nm of torque. This engine has been mated to an e-CVT.
The Accord embodies latest design language from the big ‘H’ which includes things like the large chrome grille, LED headlights and lamps and a massive side profile that define the vehicles found in this part of the market. It is loaded to the boot with features like climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable front seats, sunroof, leather upholstery and safety options like multiple airbags as well as ABS with EBD.
This vehicle will be brought in via the CBU route and so it is expected to be priced at least Rs 5 lakh over the price of the Toyota Camry Hybrid. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the details from the launch!
