It’s an open secret that the Ameo is not a hot selling compact sedan. Volkswagen India, however, is making constant efforts to refresh and revive this capable model with updated variants. The latest addition to the Ameo line-up is the Corporate Edition that you see here. So what’s new, you may ask?
Priced at Rs 6.69 lakhs and Rs 7.99 lakhs for petrol and diesel versions respectively, the Ameo Corporate Edition has been introduced for, you guessed it, corporate employees and entrepreneurs. It is based on the Highline Plus trim but is Rs 1.16 lakh less for the equivalent petrol Ameo. The diesel Corporate Edition meanwhile is priced Rs Rs 1.11 lakh lower than the standard car. In terms of features, you get rain sensing wipers, cruise control, climate control, static cornering lights, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and Android Auto.
Under the hood, you can have this edition with either a petrol or a diesel engine. That said, there is no automatic option on offer – a 5-speed manual is standard for the two fuel options. The 1-litre three-cylinder MPI engine makes 76bbhp and 95Nm while the 1.5-litre turbo charged diesel makes a healthy 110bhp and 250 Nm.
Speaking of VW’s relentless push towards its existing line-up, the brand recently launched Black and White Editions of the Ameo as well as the Polo and the Vento. You can find out more about all three cars by clicking here.
