Skoda India has just added a new variant to the Octavia line-up. The D segment offering, in fact, is now available with a Corporate Edition which can be in either petrol or diesel form. That said, Skoda is selling this variant in a single white colour only. Here’s what’s new in the Octavia Corporate Edition.
On the outside, you get the same basic design elements as the rest of the Octavia range. For the Corporate Edition, Skoda is offering the smaller 16-inch alloy wheel design which goes well with the stately nature of the car. Inside, you get the same infotainment system that is equipped with smartphone mirroring for seamless connectivity. There is also a 2-zone air conditioning system, an illuminated and cooled glove box, electric mirrors, steering mounted controls and a few other features. In terms of safety features, the Corporate Edition gets four airbags, ABS, EBD and stability control as standard.
The Corporate Edition is available with a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine that generates 148bhp and 250Nm of torque whereas the turbocharged 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine generates 141bhp of power and achieves a maximum torque of 320Nm. Both the trims get a six-speed manual transmission as standard. Skoda claims that the petrol version returns a fuel efficiency of 16.7kmpl, while the diesel returns an average fuel economy of 21kmpl. All in all, mechanically the Corporate Edition is no different from the rest of the Octavia range.
As for the all-important prices, the petrol manual is priced at Rs 15.49 lakhs and the diesel manual costs Rs 16.99 lakhs. Both ex-showroom.
