Mercedes-Benz India has just launched a facelifted version of the CLA. To be sold as the 2017 CLA, this new offering features minor design changes, updated interiors and a sporty new package. The powertrain remains unchanged though – a 2-litre, four-cylinder petrol with 184bhp/300Nm and a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel with 134bhp and 300Nm. That said, there are plenty of new bits as well.
Here are 4 new things on the Mercedes CLA facelift.
Upgraded design
Despite being around for a long time, the CLA still has its charm and manages to look good with its low-slung nose and coupe-like styling. For 2017, Mercedes has given the CLA a quick nip and tuck with new LED headlights, redesigned bumpers and a slightly revised taillight cluster. The rest, including the wheel options, remain the same.
Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
Inside, the biggest change is to be found on the dash which now houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, up from the 7-inch unit in the old car. The highlight though is the fact that this new system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity for smartphones.
Road and Track package
With the 2017 CLA, Mercedes is also offering something called as the ‘Road and Track’ package. This racier trim adds white interior upholstery, carbon wing mirrors and a rear spoiler, red hub caps and some stickers. The Road and Track package comes in at Rs 1.78lakh over the price of the standard car.
Variants and prices
The CLA facelift is available in three variants (one petrol and two diesel) and five colour options including a new blue shade. The ex-showroom prices range between Rs 31.40 lakh and Rs 34.68 lakh. The car mainly competes with the Audi A3 which is due for a thorough update.
