John Hennessey is known for pumping out insane amount of horsepower from any engine and Ford’s are his favourite. The latest Ford to undergo the high-powered knife is the huge Ford F150 Raptor truck. The truck weighs over two tonnes and is powered by a turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 petrol EcoBoost engine that develops 450bhp power at the factory state of tune.
The VelociRaptor gets custom bumpers both fore and aft bespoke Hennessey headlamps and larger wheels. Depending upon the type of off-road package you select, you can get the 20-inch rim, 35-inch Toyo tyres or the larger 37-inch ones. Similarly, the lift kit on stage one is for 76mm while that on the stage two is over 200mm. With stage two, you also get Brembo brakes and LED light bars on top.
The Hennessey-tuned F150 is called the VelociRaptor and is available in three states of tune – 500bhp, 600bhp and 700bhp. While Hennessey is confident about pumping even 800 horses from the EcoBoost, it might be in store for later. For now, depending upon the state of tune that you opt for you will get an all-new induction system, remapped ECU, bigger turbos, manifolds with wastegates and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust.
Hennessey has decided to build only 100 of these every year. The 600bhp setup will cost you $22,500 (approx. RS 14 lakh) over the donor truck while the 700bhp setup will set you back by almost $50,000 (approx. Rs 32 lakh). And then the suspension setups will cost you $12,950 (approx. Rs 8 lakh) and $22,950 (approx. Rs 14 lakh) depending upon the stages.
