- Gets new breathing gear, larger supercharger, new ECU
- Quarter-mile in 9.14 seconds
John Hennessey likes to make faster cars go even faster. So what if it is the Dodge Demon, the ridiculously powerful muscle car from the Dodge garage.
Earlier, it was the Challenger Hellcat that wore the ‘American Muscle’ crown with its 700-odd horsepower. Then Dodge decided to ‘Demon’ize it by slapping a 2.7-litre supercharger and pumping out 840bhp of power. With the puny drag wheels in the front and good rubber in the back, the Demon could pop wheelies on the drag strip.
Well, it probably wasn’t fast enough for Hennessey. Because he now has a 4.5-litre supercharger which adds roughly 40 horsepower more and more torque making it the most powerful production V8 as of now. With sticky tyres and a drag strip, you can now get the quarter-mile done with in just 9.14s with an exit trap speed of 245.5kmph.
It gets a custom intake, throttle body and exhaust and a bespoke ECU which manages the new injectors and valves. And to top it all, it comes with a one year, 20,000km warranty.
