The Americans tuners are known for some outrageous experiments, which at times have yielded crazy but jaw dropping results. The end result of one of these experiments was the ‘heart and libido of Goliath in the body of David’ – the 2011 Venom GT, a USD 950,000 monster developing 1200bhp in the body of a Lotus Elise. Now, however, there is a new onr.
Basically Hennessey went out, tinkered with various bits of the Venom GT and have now brought out the Venom GT2. The new car is 300bhp more powerful than its sibling – that is additional power of a power of a Mitsubishi Evo X and uses a 7.0-litre twin-turbo V8.
Not much else is known at this point; expect that the GT2 will get an (165,000 Dollar) optional seven-speed transmission, improved aerodynamics, new headlights, double bubble top and surprisingly traction control. However, despite being loaded with so much excess, the GT2’s engine is capable of unleashing its 1500 horses to reach a top speed of 461kmph using E85 flex fuel.
While the Venom GT was a ‘measly’ 950,000 Dollars, the Venom GT 2 is expected to lighten the pocket by 1.25 million Dollars. It will make its official debut in late 2013.
