Honda Cars India Ltd. has increased prices of its vehicles across different models by up to Rs 10,000. The carmaker has joined other manufacturers who had raised car prices at the start of the New Year.
Honda's entry-level car Brio is expensive by Rs 2,000 and is now available in the price bracket of Rs 4.27 lakh and Rs 6.85 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The successful compact sedan Amaze is now priced at Rs 3,500 more than its earlier price. The Jazz is costlier by Rs 4,800 and the CR-V SUV by Rs 10,000. Consumers buying the Mobilio MPV and mid-sized sedan City also have to shell out Rs 3,000 more for any variant of the car.
Many carmakers including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Skoda, GM, Hyundai, Renault, Nissan, BMW and Mercedes-Benz had announced they would raise their product prices at the start of 2016. The automakers have introduced this price hike to offset the impact of rising costs and due to the weakened rupee against the dollar.
