- Expected to be showcased in India at the 2020 Auto Expo
- Gets 1.5L and 2.0L turbocharged petrol engines
- May rival the Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Mahindra XUV500 in India
Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motors is all set to foray into the domestic market late next year or in early 2021. The Chinese OEM will introduce the Haval brand in India and is expected to showcase an array of products at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo. The company has unveiled the Haval H6 in China, and the mid-size SUV could very well be the first product from the Chinese automaker in India.
The Haval H6 shares a lot of design cues with the Haval H9 full-size SUV. It carries an imposing two-box design and comes across as a butch SUV. Prominent design elements include LED projector headlamps with DRLs, a hexagonal radiator grille, multi-spoke machined alloys, body claddings and LED stop lamps. Inside, the interiors have a touch of inspiration from Audi with the extended AC vents and a virtual cockpit-like instrument cluster.
The Haval H6 comes loaded with features like a nine-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, powered front seats, keyless entry with push-button start and heated steering wheel. It also gets a 360-degree camera, blind-spot detection, lane departure warning and electronic stability program among other things.
Under the hood, the Haval H6 gets 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre T-GDI engines. The former makes 161bhp and 280Nm while the latter pumps out 188bhp and 340Nm. Both the powertrains are paired with a seven-speed DCT. If launched in India, the H6 will compete against the likes of MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500 and the Tata Harrier.
