The three Germans, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have announced various offers including price cut. This price cut is a result of the GST policy, which will come to effect from 1st July.
Thanks to the GST, there has been decrease in indirect tax on large cars and SUVs. So a lot of buyers would want to wait till the GST is implemented to avail the benefits. These discounts by manufacturers are a way to entice buyers to walk into the showrooms and not hold off their purchases till July.
Mercedes-Benz was the first one to come out with the price reduction. The company slashed the prices of the locally-assembled models in the range of 2-9 per cent. So its entry-level sedan, CLA, saw a price drop of around Rs 1.2 lakh, whereas the Maybach S500 got cheaper by close to Rs 7 lakh. BMW is offering reduced rate of interest of 7.9 per cent for all its cars. There’s also assured buyback guarantee for four years, complimentary service and maintenance package for three years and also one year complimentary insurance for one year.. Audi too, is out with attractive finance schemes. This German car maker is also offering a service package covering full maintenance, wear and tear. However, these offers are valid only till June 2017.
If you’re in the market for a luxury sedan or SUVs, this is the right time. The prices of these cars are meant to go down when the GST is implemented, but it’s highly unlikely to that these see offers on service and maintenance would remain valid until then.
