The 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed will feature a special category dedicated to the art of drifting, for the first time in the event's history. The organisers have announced that the forthcoming hill climb festival will feature some of the biggest names in the business taking part in the special category.
New Zealander ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett and YouTube sensation Ken Block are two of the best-known exponents of drifting, and both will be seen in action in the ‘Catch my Drift?’ category that has been planned for this year’s festival.
While the former will be taming his 1000bhp-plus Mazda RX-7 for more tyre-smoking action, Mr. Block will bring his incredible 850bhp Ford Mustang, dubbed the ‘Hoonicorn’.
This year’s festival will also include extreme drift cars like the Nissan 200SX S14, a 1,000bhp R34 Skyline, a BMW M4, a Toyota GT86 and many more.
