It seems to be a season of recalls with General Motors India issuing recall for over one lakh units of the Chevrolet Beat hatchback. The issue affects the clutch pedal of the diesel variant manufactured between December 2010 and July 2014.
The clutch pedal installed on these cars may not be strong enough to sustain the continuous usage and may fail due to fatigue. Stressing on the company’s commitment towards quality and customer safety, General Motors has started contacting customers to take their affected cars to the nearest authorised service centre.
Chevrolet will check and replace the faulty part free of cost and customers can also reach out to dealerships to verify if their car is among the affected lot. Chevrolet had earlier recalled 1.14 lakh units if the Chevrolet Tavera SUV over emission and specifications issues.
There has been a slew of recalls following SIAM’s introduction of the recall policy with over 18 lakh vehicles recalled till date.
