Though the sales of new automotives have dried up in the American market, General Motors managed to top the Canadian auto market. The Canadian car market had a steady 2008.
For the year 2008, GM sold 358,902 units resulting in an 11 percent fall as compared to 2007. Other foreign based company’s sales grew in the Canadian market. Toyota swore by 11% in 2008. The company went past Chrysler and Ford to become the second position in terms of overall sales. Honda grew by 1% and Mercedes Benz Canada grew by 26.4% with GM leading in overall sales.
