It’s a big car show in Indonesia and everyone has brought their best wares on display. While Indonesia is crazy about its people carriers (You can check out our gallery) they do have other stuff on offer and here is our list of top three SUVs from the GIIAS 2017 (Gaikindo Indonesian International Show).
Audi Q5
The second generation India-bound Audi Q5 was unveiled on day one of the GIIAS 2017 for the Indonesian market. It gets an evolutionary design and for this country it will be offered with the 2.0-litre petrol engine, and possibly in multiple trim levels. The Indian market will get the same, but with the option of diesel engines too.
Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivio
Perhaps somebody high up in Toyota thought that the Fortuner wasn’t big enough or didn’t grab enough eyeballs. Because Toyota is now offering a TRD Sportivo body kit for this giant SUV! The display car is a signature TRD white and gets a whole bunch of bits and shiny bobs to give the Fortuner a sporty outlook. In Indonesia, you can have the car with the 2.4-litre and 2.7-litre petrol.
Isuzu MU-X
We may have just got the Isuzu MU-X in India, but abroad, it recently underwent a facelift and this was on display at the auto show. The updates include a new interior, feature list and a new face to bring the car on par with Isuzu’s latest design language. We believe that Isuzu is likely to bring this car to India in mid-2018 as a major update for the MU-X.
2018 Mazda CX-5
Entering its second generation, the CX-5 mid-size SUV has been showcased at GIIAS 2017. This new model is being offered with a 2.5-litre petrol engine for the Indonesian market and gets a whole host of luxury features similar to what we see on the Rs 40 lakh SUVs in India. Though Mazdas are not sold in India, the brand is quite well known, thanks to its products like the Miata and the Wankel engine.
