Shown at the 2018 CES, the mental electric Corvette is now scorching the roads
Now this might look like a beefed up Corvette C7, but there's more than meets the eye with this beast. This one's mean, green and called the GXE sportscar. The brain behind the beast is Genovation, an engineering skunkworks based in the U.S. While the base car is a Corvette C7, it gets unique visual treatments to ensure it stands out. You’ll notice the revised front bumper and round taillights. Genovation says it chose the Corvette as the donor due to the lightweight frame.
Coming to the important point, the electric supercar makes 800 horsepower courtesy two electric motors. And with either a 7-speed manual or a standard automatic gearbox, the GXE will top out at an insane 350 plus kmph. And when you aren't hitting those mental speeds, it will do 280 km on a single charge. Genovation will start deliveries of the GXE in 2019. With the money raised, the company plans to develop a more affordable electric sports car dubbed the G2.
