Subaru had teased the Viziv tourer concept before its Geneva debut, rekindling hopes of the Impreza-wagon fans. With its debut, Subaru has officiated the idea of the performance wagon based on the new-generation WRX.
The Viziv concept spawns the new WRX, the all-wheel drive sedan that was called the Impreza a decade ago. The Viziv Performance is the next-generation iteration of the WRX STI, a fully-blown rally-prepped machine that inherits the legacy of the World Rally Championship-winning Impreza. Built on the same platform as these two, it is but obvious that the Viziv tourer will become the WRX-wagon.
Now the seamless rear fender and roofline visible in the pictures gives an impression of a crossover, but the identical wheelbase ensures that this is not the next Legacy, despite being about 150mm longer.Â
The Viziv Concept has already wowed us many times with its creative planes and cuts, jagged edges and flowing design. The large wheels and low-slung stance bring in that much needed sportiness while the lift-gate in the back makes this rally-hooligan a practical family car as well. The six-cylinder boxer engine will make sure that it always has the trademark howl and sufficient grunt.Â

But, with the new WRX due only in 2020, the Wagon, if it comes, will follow the sedan. Which means, we will have to keep waiting to see if they really make a wagon or not.
