Taking our eyes off the usual hypercars with the Lamborghini and Ferrari badging, the Croatian car manufacturer Rimac thrilled the enthusiasts at Geneva with the C_Two electric hypercar. The new Rimac C_Two further takes things to the next level from the limited production Rimac Concept One hypercar which was produced till 2017.
The four-electric motors (one for each wheel) in the Rimac C_Two electric hypercar is powered by a 120 kWh Lithium-Manganese-Nickel battery. The rear wheels are offered with a two speed gearbox, while the front gets a single speed gearbox. The Rimac C_Two produces a whopping 1,887bhp of power and 2,300Nm of peak torque. The vehicle’s top speed is limited to 412kmph and does 0-100kmph in just 1.97 seconds! The oil cooled motors can cover a distance of 650kms on a full charge.
The vehicle gets active front hood which effectively channels air from underneath the car up from the bonnet and on towards the roof for that additional downforce. The vehicle gets an active rear wing which manages handling and functions as an air brake with just a touch of a button. The underbody gets a magnitude of flaps for that additional bit of downforce. The wheels are also aerodynamically designed to reduce drag and downforce along with faster cooling brakes.
Speaking of features, Rimac C_Two gets eight cameras, six radars, a lidar and twelve ultrasonic sensors that enables auto braking, lane assist and self-driving functions. The GPS coordinates assists during cornering and braking as per the track layout.
