In an effort to address the congestion issues around the world, Renault has unveiled the Ez-Go electric autonomous Concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The concept offers urban transportation solutions by offering vehicle-service integration, connected services, generating data analytics, multi-modal services and more. Interestingly, it gets level four autonomous driving ability that enables the vehicle to perform all the driving functions like an average driver in the form of lane changing, maintaining vehicle distance, and turning at intersections and more.
The Renault Ez-Go electric autonomous vehicle can accommodate up to six people and commuters can book the ride via a mobile app. Commercial aggregators can commission the vehicle at public places like railway stations, airports, etc or offer corporate services. The concept gets a futuristic design with all-round visibility, wing styled doors and a boarding ramp for easy ingress and egress. The vehicle gets a four-wheel steering system that offers better handling and navigation. As of now, the top speed has been limited to 50kmph.
Currently in the concept form, Renault plans to introduce the production version of the Ez-Go in 2022. The vehicle will be available for public and private use.
