The next-generation Audi A6 has finally made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show. This is the fifth generation for the German automaker’s mid-size luxury sedan since the Audi 100 was rebranded as the A6 in 1994.
The A6 gets an evolved design, completely updated interiors with a massive feature list to keep up with the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Volvo S90 and Jaguar XF, all of which are in a new generation. It looks like Audi has heard out its buyers and done enough to make sure the A6 looks different from its siblings, but just enough so that you don’t miss the family identity. We have spoken in detail about the top four features of the new A6 and you can read about it here.
At the time of being launched, the A6 will be offered with one petrol and diesel turbocharged engine. But we expect that Audi will expand the range to include four-cylinder units, hybrid power and of course, a high performance S6 model that will get a turbocharged high output engine.
This A6 is coming to India and will probably do so once production for the European markets and America begins. It will be locally assembled at Skoda’s Aurangabad factory where all MQB models sold in India are assembled.
