The Geneva Motor Show has been a major showcase for Tata to reveal new concept vehicles. The highlight may have the Racemo sports car but closer to home is the Nexon compact SUV which has now got a Geneva Edition.
Much like the car that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, this model too sports a tone paint job which in this case is a red body with a white coloured roof. It gets the familiar Tata face but with swoopy headlights and funky looking propeller shaped alloy wheels. Given the brightness of the red paint used, it allows black coloured wheel arches to stand out and give the car a proper SUV stance.
The Nexon Geneva Edition gets plush interior that includes a openable console with armrest to complement the SUV character. A dynamic, elegant integrated dashboard design with premium materials and surface texture gives an upmarket feel to the car. Ergonomically placed bottle and cup holders, multiple utility spaces, handbag hangers, laptop and iPad trays to ensure hassle free long journeys and city drives. Automatic climate control with rear AC vents makes the passengers more comfortable at rear.
It will be offered with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine which has been mated to a six-speed manual. The SUV is 3.95-metres and comes with a 44-litre fuel tank. In addition this vehicle gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control and ISOFIX mounts at the rear.
This new compact SUV will take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Expect it to be launched either by the end of this year or in early 2018.
