Things just keep getting better and better as we are move closer to the 87th edition of the Geneva Motor Show as Mercedes-Benz has now released a teaser image of its new AMG GT4 concept car. As the name suggests, it is a four-door version of the German automaker’s flagship sports car.
In the teaser image, we can see an elongated version of the coupe but now fitted with four doors and obviously four seats. Built to rival the likes of the Porsche Panamera and Maserati Quattroporte, this new car is expected to be a proper grand tourer. Noticeable elements for this car include cameras in place of the ORVMs, a single large centrally mounted exhaust, sporty bumpers and of course those beautiful tail lamps that has defined the AMG GT moniker since its arrival in 2014. Of course, it is also hard to miss those massive multi-colour wheels that give the car a hunkered down look.
In production form this car is likely to make use of the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and seven-speed AMG speed-shift transmission that powers the ‘standard’ AMG GT. It will be unveiled at Geneva and then go into production in 2018. Is it coming to India? Very much! As Mercedes-Benz has been aggressive with its sports car lineup in the sub-continent and this being a new and exciting offering, it sure to be launched here!
