General Motors will hike the prices of all its models with effect from October 1 to combat rising input costs and fluctuations in currency rates. "The details, such as quantum of hike, are still being evaluated but we have decided to increase the prices of all our models from October 1 due to high input costs, currency fluctuation and freight costs," said P Balendran General Motors India Vice President.
The American automaker follows Honda and Maruti Suzuki who hiked their prices after citing similar reasons. Honda announced a hike between 0.2-2.6 per cent on the Brio, Jazz and the City while Maruti is yet to confirm the exact details of its price hike.
