General Motors India has announced a hike in prices of its entire range by up to Rs 10,000. The company has said the hike was a result of rising input costs and will be effective from January 1, 2014. General Motors now joins BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Hyundai and Maruti-Suzuki who have already announced a price hike.
General Motors currently sells the Chevrolet Spark, Beat, Sail U-VA, Sail, Cruze, Enjoy, Tavera and the Captiva. Expect the hatchbacks to get the least hike with the Captiva getting the highest price boost.
"We plan to hike prices across our entire product portfolio by up to Rs 10,000 from January. This is due to cost pressure,” said P Balendran, vice-president, General Motors.
