General Motors, today inaugurated its engine plant in Talegaon in the presence of Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. At present, work for the first phase of the plant is over. Now, the plant has the capacity of producing 1.6 lakh engine units.
After the completion of second stage, the plant’s capacity will increase by 1.4 lakhs to 3 lakhs. This plant is capable of producing petrol and diesel powerplants on the same assembly line. This September, GM had celebrated the second anniversary of its Talegaon plant.
