General Motors has not been in the news, in India, off late, as it has not got anything recently for the Indian market. But since Chevrolet has recently launched the Corvette C7 worldwide, the company will display this American muscle car along with the Camaro at the Auto Expo with no intentions of selling them here.
A new compact SUV concept based on the Chevrolet Trax will be seen at the stand. This compact vehicle will go up against the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster, if and when introduced in India. This car is called the Adra concept which is sub-four-metre in length and is based on the company’s Gamma 2 platform which underpins the carmaker’s small cars globally.
The automaker is expected to launch the Chevrolet Adra compact SUV in India next year. This makes us believe that the production model will begin testing this year. The Adra will be powered by the same engines currently on the Sail, which is the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel mills.
GM will also showcase the upcoming Beat facelift. This might be the last revision the current generation Beat might receive as General Motors has already started testing the next generation model in Europe. The company might not just unveil the facelifted Beat at the Auto Expo but also launch it.
We can expect the automaker to bring the huge SUV, the Trailblazer, to the biennial event. A special edition Beat might also be showcased at the stand.
