Job seekers beware! This alert is being issued in public interest so that you are aware and informed since it appears that your favourite automotive website is under a fairly large phishing attack. It is a shock to us over the last two days as job-seekers have been calling our board line number seeking to find information as how to deposit money towards an assured job in the manufacturing plant of a reputed Indian car manufacturer. According to the callers, they have received fraudulent letters and documents which bear our respected parent company name and these letters have stated that we are offering this assured Managerial post provided a candidate deposits Rs.9,380/- in a Chase Manhattan Bank numbered account towards Interview Security (?!)
Further discussions with such callers revealed that they have received these emails with such offers which have come as a complete shock to us. They also state that the postal address provided in their email is of Automotive Exchange Pvt Ltd (the parent company of CarWale). We have informed these callers that they should not transfer any money to anybody and requested them to forward the emails to us. The emails DO have our name in the postal address but the address provided is incorrect! If any of you have received such email demanding money as security deposit for conducting any interviews, please ignore it and it would help if you could forward these emails (contact@carwale.com) enabling us and the CyberCrime Cell nab these people who are out to tarnish our hard earned reputation. Please note that CarWale does NOT hire people for any car manufacturers. Please do NOT pay any money towards any such email you may receive since this is a fraudulent activity.
