Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki has unveiled the new Swift Sport at the ongoing 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Reports indicate that the new Swift Sport weighs 80kgs lighter than the previous generation Swift Sport. The new model offers better performance and fresh style upgrades as compared to the older generation.
Under the hood, the Suzuki Swift Sport gets a 1.4-litre turbocharged BoosterJet engine that generates 138bhp of power and 223Nm of torque. The vehicle comes mated to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. In terms of dimensions, the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport measures at 3,890mm in length (about 50 mm longer than the regular current Swift), 1,735 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height. The car gets a ground clearance of 120mm.
In terms of design, the new generation Swift Sport gets a large grille on the front and a sporty front bumper with redesigned fog lamp enclosures. As for the sides, it gets blacked out side skirts and sporty diamond-cut alloy wheels. Although there are no immediate plans for its India debut but if launched, it will compete against the likes of Fiat Abarth Punto and the Polo GTi from Volkswagen.
