In a world where downsizing and producing smaller vehicles seems to be the growing norm, the Toyota Land Cruiser seems to stand out as an institution with a different thought process. Now, this thought process has come in a new form and a new generation and has been showcased at Frankfurt 2017.
The giant proportions inside and outside remain untouched but there is a bunch of new technology and design elements that give a Land Cruiser a much needed update. There is a new grille, head lamps and wheels as a part of the update. The tail lamps have been reduced in size and have become wrap around units.
The overall layout of the cabin has not been changed from the outgoing model but includes some new colour options and most importantly a massive touchscreen infotainment system. The safety list has increased many fold and includes a variety of passenger and pedestrian safety options.
Depending on the market, you can have the new Land Cruiser with a massive 4.0-litre V8 petrol, 3.0-litre V6 diesel or a 2.8-litre four-cylinder motor. All of them are offered with a six-speed AT and AWD system.
The Toyota Land Cruiser is a very niche product in India and if they do bring this new one to India, then expect it here in mid-2018.  Â
