The all-new Bentley Continental GT has made its global debut at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. The uber luxurious coupe, in fact, has been improved for 2018 with more speed, luxury and better dynamics.
Even though it’s fairly new, the new Continental GT looks unmistakably Bentley and that’s not a bad thing at all. The new body and materials have helped in cutting down the cars weight by around 80kg over the previous Continental W12. The aluminium shell has been crafted using Super Formed technology in which the aluminium is heated to 500°C. This has previously been used on Bentley fenders but the new Continental GT is the first production car ever to have an entire body side made from the Super Formed process.
Inside, the Continental GT features a unique rotating display. A choice of three audio systems is offered in the new Continental GT. The standard system features 10 speakers and 650 Watts, while a Bang & Olufsen 1,500 W, 16-speaker system with illuminated speaker grilles is aimed at lifestyle-oriented customers.
Fire power comes from a massive 6-litre, W12 TSI engine. It produces 626bhp and 900Nm of torque and allows the car to accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.7 seconds, and on to a top speed of 333kmph.
The new Bentley Continental GT is now open for bookings with customer deliveries starting in Q2 next year. Also, Bentley has confirmed that a plug-in hybrid model will be available in the future.
