Audi is showcasing a wide variety of their new model range at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. The range includes the India-bound Q5 which was completely revamped last year with an all-new model.
The new Q5 gets a host of tech upgrades and features to make it a strong competitor in its segment. Like before, it’s available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 2-litre TFSI engine that generates 249bhp of power, while the diesel gets a 2-litre TDI turbo engine that generates 188bhp of power. Both the engines come mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox and quattro AWD system as standard.
Styling wise, the new Q5 borrows quite a few design cues from its bigger sibling, the Q7. The SUV gets new LED headlights and taillamps. Apart from the 19-inch rims as standard, the optional S-line exterior package offers 20-inch alloy wheels along with front and rear parking aid.
The interior of the old Q5 left little to be desired. However all that has changed with this new model. Featuring Audi’s latest interior theme, the Q5’s interior now looks smashing and thoroughly luxurious. The car gets leather upholstery in optional black or nougat brown shade. Based on the trim level, Audi will offer electrically adjustable front seats, Bang and Olufsen audio system, cruise control, MMI Radio Plus with a 7-inch TFT display, multifunction steering wheel and sports seats.
Competing against cars like the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the BMW X3, the new Audi Q5 has already arrived in Europe and the US. Audi India, meanwhile, is expected to launch this highly improved model in the coming months.
