Hyundai unveiled the Kona SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017. The all-new model from Hyundai carries the traditional Hyundai family face. The vehicle gets signature Hyundai cues like two-tier headlamps, cascading grille, flared wheel arches and the muscular stance.
Under the hood, the internationally unveiled model gets two engine choices- 1-litre T-GDI and a 1.6-litre T-GDI. The smaller engine generates 118 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm of torque at 1,500-4,000 rpm, while the bigger engine generates 175 bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 265 Nm of peak torque at 1,500-4,500 rpm. The vehicles gets two transmission choices - 6-speed manual with front wheel drive and a 7-speed DCT optional four-wheel drive. The car gets an optional eight-inch infotainment system, which supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
In terms of safety features the international spec model gets Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Static Bending Light and Smart High Beam.
